JLL announces leadership changes in Southeast Asia
Chris Archibold and Michael Glancy to lead Singapore and Thailand respectively
SINGAPORE, 12 January 2021 – Global real estate consultancy JLL has announced a series of people moves in Southeast Asia today, with Chris Archibold appointed as Country Head, Singapore, and Michael Glancy succeeding Suphin Mechuchep as Country Head, Thailand, while Mechuchep will step into a new role as Chairperson for Thailand.
These leadership changes, effective from January 2021, come as part of the firm’s succession planning and to strengthen its capabilities and align with its growth ambitions in the region. All three executives will report into Chris Fossick, who will remain as CEO of Southeast Asia.
“Southeast Asia is a fast-growing region with a robust real estate sector, and we want to ensure that we stay ahead of the curve while continuing to deliver excellent services for our clients,” says Fossick. “These new moves reflect our commitment to provide clients with unparalleled expertise and insights, backed by our robust technology platforms. With a strong management structure leading our team in the region, we’ll be well-placed to help our clients navigate the evolving future of the workplace amidst this time of economic uncertainty.”
No stranger to Asia, Archibold has worked with JLL in Singapore for 17 years and spearheaded the office leasing business before taking over as Head of Leasing for Singapore in 2018. In his new role, he will drive Singapore’s sales strategy and business development by connecting local and regional business functions, as well as leading markets advisory
Likewise, in Thailand, Glancy will be responsible for managing the country’s business growth. Having worked in JLL Hong Kong since 2010, Glancy relocated to Bangkok in February last year and has been heading Thailand’s transaction business since. He will partner closely with regional and local business lines to generate new business leads and opportunities.
As the former Country Head of Thailand, Mechuchep has successfully managed and expanded the company over the last two decades. In her new role as Chairperson, Thailand, Mechuchep will continue to drive key business priorities and nurture strong client networks that she has built over her 30-year career.
As we enter one of the most complex periods that the real estate sector has ever seen, I’m thrilled to lead this world-class team as we continue to build our successes across Southeast Asia, while being there for our clients every step of the way to provide them with timely and comprehensive advice,” concludes Fossick.
